I’m a current student on the BSc (Hons) top up degree, with only my dissertation left to submit in just over a month’s time. I’m so glad I made the decision to start this course back in 2021, it’s allowed me to fulfil both my personal life goal of being educated to degree level, as well as my academic goals which were to enhance my theoretical knowledge.

Every module I’ve studied has been engaging and relevant to our roles in practice. The lecturers are incredibly supportive, care greatly about your success, and are really easy to get in touch with. At no stage of the programme have I felt out of my depth or unsupported, and that’s credit to the lecturers on the programme. Prior to starting the degree, I became a practice owner which absorbs a large portion of my time, however, as the course is delivered mostly online, it’s allowed me to schedule my university work around my work/personal life. Although there is a particular work schedule per module, per week, I can decide to do this at 10am in the morning or 10pm at night – which is brilliant!

Overall, I think the top up degree is a brilliant opportunity and investment in your future. Following graduation, I plan to start a master’s degree in veterinary physiotherapy, and without the offering of this unique top up degree for diploma/foundation degree RVNs, this wouldn’t have been possible for me.
