It’s no secret that there appears to be a shortage of Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) in the UK. Yet did you know that there is no shortage of people wishing to train to become an RVN?
The opportunity to become an apprentice veterinary nurse is highly sought after, yet few veterinary practices offer this as a way in which to employ an individual and provide the necessary stepping stone for them to train to become tomorrow’s RVN.
Why?
The reason could be the perceived cost as it is the veterinary practice that need to pay the apprenticeship fees, but did you know that these fees have just been slashed?! If you are part of a corporate veterinary group all course fees are now payable from your Head Office levy funds and therefore make sure you find out how this works within your organisation.
Alternatively if you are a small practice with an annual payroll bill of under £3 million then you could be training an apprentice at a cost of only £750 per year – or FREE if the apprentice is aged 16 -18!
