Here at CAW we understand that things can feel a little daunting, particularly during the pandemic. It may feel like it is a struggle to strike up friendships and settle into college life.
That’s why we have set up the CAW Buddy Scheme. We want our students to make the most of their time with us. Not only do we aspire for our students to progress academically, but we also want to enable our students to develop as a person, nurture friendships and truly enjoy their time with us.
The Buddy Scheme offers students the chance to create connections with their peers and to share hints and tips in settling in at college. Our Buddy Scheme is very informal, we know everyone is busy these days – so we expect our buddies to make their friendship work around their schedules. We also don’t expect our buddies to know everything, so if there are times when either of you are unsure of something, it is always best to speak to a member of staff.
Students can find out more about the scheme in our Buddy Scheme Pocket Guide here!
Buddy Box for volunteers!
We are pleased to share that the first three volunteer Buddies will received a ‘Buddy Box’ full of self-care goodies, as a small token of our appreciation for you volunteering to become part of the scheme. Because taking care of yourself is as important as offering support to others.
If you are a student at CAW and are interested in applying to volunteer to become a buddy please complete the application form here, or apply for a buddy by completing the application form here and returning the forms to buddy@caw.ac.uk
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any enquiries or would like to find out more!
