The College of Animal Welfare offers students the opportunity to study the Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing or the Veterinary Nurse (Level 3) Apprenticeship from our satellite centre based in Wheelhouse Veterinary Centre.

Students choosing to study at this centre will undertake online theory day release lessons, and come into the centre for approximately 10 practical skills training days throughout the programme. Find out more about how this programme works

Completion of the diploma will allow you to apply for professional registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

You can undertake the diploma as a standalone qualification, or train as an apprentice.

The College of Animal Welfare was established in 1989 by one of the leading animal welfare charities, Wood Green Animal Shelters in Cambridgeshire. Today, the college has centres across the UK and specialises in training in the land-based sector.

Wheelhouse Veterinary Centre’s Chalfont St Giles practice is a small animal veterinary practice based in Buckinghamshire offering a range of veterinary services to animals in the local community. The College of Animal Welfare’s training room is based within the practice’s modern and light extension named ‘The Hub’.
