Veterinary Nurse Apprentice – Waltham Abbey

Waltham Abbey Vets4Pets Ltd are located in Waltham Abbey, Epping, just north of London. We have a friendly team of enthusiastic vets and veterinary nurses who are committed to bringing affordable, high quality veterinary care in our modern, well equipped practice, which includes a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray and ultrasound. We also have on site car parking too!

We are a small practice with a great team. The work will be hands on, interactive and interesting. You will receive full support and guidance throughout the apprenticeship as you gain and acquire new skills and experience. Afterwards you will be RVN qualified and have a chance to become a veterinary nurse.

What you will do in your working day

  • Handling animals
  • Dealing with clients
  • Reception work
  • Cleaning
  • Learning how to run bloods
  • Learning how to keep an animal under anaesthesia
  • Looking after animals in recovery

The training you will be getting

  • The training will be at The College of Animal Welfare (CAW)
  • The qualification you will receive will be Level 3 Veterinary Nurse
  • You will attend one day of learning and training at the college and spend the remaining four days in the working week at our practice learning and training

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Once qualified you can continue working at our practice as a fully qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) and get your foot in the door of the veterinary industry.

Monday to Friday 8 hours a day

Total hours per week: 40
