Supporting You and Your Employees
The College of Animal Welfare is committed to providing you and your employees with a service that is second to none and helps your business to grow and thrive.
We are passionate about providing quality training and education as we strongly believe that knowledge is the key to raising standards in animal welfare. We want your employees to succeed and will do our utmost to support them through their time at College and beyond to enable them to achieve their future goals and have a rewarding and long career in their chosen field.
Our Commitment to You
The College of Animal Welfare will:
- Work with your organisation to help you access the most cost effective training and where appropriate, funding support
- Ensure that all learners are taught, assessed and verified by appropriately qualified staff
- Carry out all training, assessment and verification in a way that minimises disruption to the organisation’s normal activities if appropriate
- Provide appropriate information, advice, guidance and support to engage all learners in both achieving the appropriate qualification and with regard to progression to further learning and development opportunities
- Discuss and support any requirements for individuals with learning difficulties or disabilities, including assisting with analysis of such requirements
- Provide regular progress reports to both the employer and the employee
- Signpost you to alternative provision if we unable to accommodate your business needs
Employer Forum
In order to gain meaningful advice and input on our activities and provision we have an employer advisory group at each centre made up of employers from within the veterinary and animal care sector. The main purpose of these forums is to:
- Act as a critical friend to the College in appraising and influencing the current and future provision.
- Provide an independent insight into market trends.
- Act as a sounding board for new ideas and services.
- Act in an advisory role to communicate the employers’ message to College employees.
- Help the College with marketing issues, website design feedback, preparation for the new qualification structure and contribute to the College’s self-assessment process.
If you are interested in joining one of our Employer Forums please contact Barbara Cooper, College Principal, on 01480 422060.
Equality and Diversity
We are committed to achieving equality of opportunity for all those who study, work or who are linked to the College. We work hard to widen participation and remove the barriers to achievement.
Bullying and Harassment
We expect standards of behaviour that recognise and respect the dignity of all individuals and regard any form of harassment, victimisation, intimidation or bullying as unacceptable behaviour.
Health and Safety
We will provide a positive, professional and accessible learning environment for your employee. A copy of health and safety policy can be found here.
Safeguarding
We take our duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of all our learners very seriously and are committed to promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults receiving education and training. All members of College staff are DBS checked.
