The College of Animal Welfare offers the Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing qualification from it’s satellite centre based inside Pride Veterinary Referrals in Derby, with the next courses starting throughout the year.
Students who choose to study here will undertake Live Online learning (weekly lessons via our online classroom) and come into the centre for approximately 10 practical training days throughout the programme. Find out more about how this programme works
Completion of the diploma will allow you to apply for professional registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
You can undertake the diploma as a standalone qualification or train as an apprentice.

The College of Animal Welfare was established in 1989 by one of the leading animal welfare charities, Wood Green Animal Shelters in Cambridgeshire. Today, the college has eight centres across the UK and specialises in training in the land-based sector.
Set in Derby, the satellite centre is located inside Pride Veterinary Referrals. This makes the Derby centre commutable by bus, car or train from many surrounding areas including: Mansfield, Burton upon Trent, Castle Donington, Loughborough, Leicester, Ashbourne, Stoke-on-Trent and Nottingham.
